This 1500 grit paper is a good choice for wet sanding of paint and varnish as the latex treated paper backing will not soften or crack when wet. I've also tried sharpening planer knives with the "terribly sharp" method, soaked it and placed it on my granite pad. At 87 cents per sheet, it's cheaper than buying individual sheets at your local hardware store or hardware store, not that you can typically find 1500 grit at either of those places. It's also about 30% cheaper than 3M wet or dry paper, although 3M paper appears to be more durable.
