I bought this particular keyboard case because the reviewers said it doesn't leave a mark on the screen. It does (at least on my 2018 MacBook Pro). Still, I would recommend/buy it. When typing, oil remains from your fingers on the lid. When the strainer is closed, the lid presses against the strainer, leaving quite noticeable traces of oil. You can also see the actual shape of the keyboard, even of keys that may not have been used. To be fair, Apple's keyboard-to-screen tolerances are so tight that any keyboard cover leaves smears of oil on the screen. So if you use it, be prepared to clean the screen frequently or remove the cover when you close the screen.
