Air can still get in because a pillow isn't a solid pillow, it's a bunch of smaller pillows in a row . But 100 times better than doing nothing at all. Haven't tried the yellows as I don't drive at night but the tones and clarity are great. They don't look bad to wear either. They resemble cheaper sunglasses; They don't look like glasses. I like them a lot and they do their job. But the space in the pads allows air to leak in unless pressed against the face. This allows your eyes to moisturize a little more. If I had to do it again I would use a continuous pad. But they are good enough that I don't want to bother returning them and looking for another set. Also, they are good for the price.
