I have used a forward offset air cleaner base on my Edelbrock 1406 as my manifold and accessories get in the way, I had no idea how much Air escaping through the old cereal box "seal" you find everywhere. the thing closes tight. In fact, I had to lean my idle mixture due to the lack of unrestricted airflow with the previous "distance.” A bolt tension point shift tilts the air cleaner forward, leaving a large air gap. this fixes it completely and should be.
