Review on ⌚️ Stylish Timex Men's Weekender 40mm Watch: Versatile and Timeless Design by Jamie Hill

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Accurate, comfortable entry-level watch.

Having worn a watch sparingly my whole life, I recently decided to wear a watch for an extended period of time. I finally settled on these 40mm Timex Weekender wheels and couldn't be happier. The Weekender is a simple, medium-sized model in the style of a field watch without the added complications. Depressing the crown activates Timex's signature "Indiglo" fluorescent lamp, which is bright enough to easily read a face in total darkness. Military time is displayed below the larger 12-hour digits, which is very convenient. The navy blue dial on a brown leather strap gives this watch a distinctive, eye-catching look. The case is chrome plated to look like stainless steel. I've had more compliments on this $40 watch than I can remember. The watch is fitted with a quartz movement, which means that it will show the time consistently and accurately with very little fluctuation for many years. My watch hasn't lost a second. For anyone new to the art of watchmaking, this author heartily recommends quartz as a first watch and automatic as a second so you can learn to have fun and appreciate the nuances and strengths of both. The included adjustable leather strap is comfortable and durable on the wrist, but can be easily swapped out for a NATO or stainless steel strap if required. A lot has been said in other reviews about the volume of the seconds hand, which ticks 24 hours a day. That is extremely exaggerated. When I received the watch I was surprised to recall that they were said to be high profile annoyances. The ticking is so quiet that I only hear it when I put the clock to my ear or when the room is very quiet and the clock is right next to my bed. As a first time watch or even for the seasoned watch collector this is a real winner for the price. Timex has been making watches for a very long time, and for around $40 you're getting good value for your money. I highly recommend this watch.
