Review on πŸ“· EWAY Spare Tire Mount Camera for Jeep Wrangler: Waterproof Rear View Backup Camera (2007-2018) by Tyler Parker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great camera for the price

Installed on a 2013 JK Wrangler with a 430N headstock. First, there are NO installation instructions! Like other reviews, it says there are some installation videos on YouTube (University). When I plugged in the camera, all I got was a black screen that said "Check your surroundings." I know the head unit was properly flashed (big hello to the makers of the JAOAN app) so it had to do something with the camera. I checked all my connections and everything was fine. It turned out that the included video adapter was not properly fixed for my application. Big thanks again to JAOAN for showing the correct pin placement on the Jeep JK. Also, do yourself a favor and spend the extra $20-$30 on a 12V power supply and don't bump into the reverse light wiring (they sell for about $25 on infotainment.com). Of course you'll need to run some wires all the way to the front 12V (because they switch and won't drain your battery when the jeep is off), but you've already run the video wire there anyway. The picture quality is excellent and with the LED reversing lights I installed there is more than enough light to deliver a great picture even at night. Overall I'm very satisfied and would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the instructions and the issue with the output on the video adapter interface (it took me about a day racking my brains to figure it out). Hope this helps someone else in the future.
