We bought 2 sets hoping to use both together to form a large rectangular playground. This setting didn't work. We've found that we need to have a curve between each panel to ensure stability, otherwise our little one will just lose its shape. In the end we just used one set and made an octagonal configuration. If you have hardwood or tile floors, I highly recommend ordering a foam playmat as well. I installed the mat (we ordered a multi-colored HemingWeigh mat), arranged the panels in the configuration I wanted, and placed them on the mat. I then took the pencil and traced the inside of the metal plates, removed the playfield and cut the pencil's line. The mat fits in perfectly and my son cannot move the playing surface. He's also 18 months old and hasn't figured out the lock on the gate yet. I also appreciate how tall the gate is and that he has nowhere to step and climb/scramble out like some baby hands I've seen.
