The shaft has plastic "wings" that should slide up the groove, but the "wings" will lock them up. They can probably be filed down to allow the studshaft to fit the truck. Update: I filed the "wings" using this Crescent Nicholson 21832NN file and they now fit: https://www.amazon.com/Apex-Group-21832N-Bastard-8-Inch/dp/B009YO2F6U
