Review on Meguiar’s 6" DA Foam Polishing Disc: Achieve High Gloss with Dual Action Polishing Pad – DFP6 by Kelvin Hernandez

After a few years of use I found them to be the best. to my desired result and painted surface. They're easy to clean, dry quickly, and the foam and backing retain their integrity after dozens of washes. One note: they were designed for short stroke/orbit double action polishers, not long stroke machines. .Meguiars designed these for use with their MT300 DA and similar (porter cables etc). Long stroke machines will shorten the life of these brake pads. let me explain. After using them on my Rupes 21 Mark III, I can see the foam starting to break where the edge of the polisher's baseplate connects to the black backing of the pad. This happens all the time after the appropriate usage of about 10 full mid-size cars. The pad's contact surface is still intact, as is the black carrier material. The additional heat and the relatively strong spin cycle of a longer machine should not be used. Even after a break I can use pads for another 5-10 (sometimes more) complete machines but requires more care when removing the pad from the pallet.
