Adhesive Sub-Par. I was hesitant to buy this as I've bought other magnetic mounts before and was less than impressed, but it was a 'deal of the day' so I'll give it a try. I wiped down the dash area with soap and water and degreased the area with acetone for extra protection from falling. Use the included denatural alcohol pad, let it dry (in a warm environment) and install the mount. I left the truck in a heated garage for 36 hours, and the first trip to work - the glue couldn't take it and fell off. I don't say, "Hello! I'm an idiot and glued it to the fabric! no Seriously, shiny wood, DEGREASED, peeled etc. Put a 3m VHB tape next to the radio mount, no problem. This glue is just crap and failed immediately. If you were like me and on the fence about buying? Not. Akron was my last mount for a reason - they work. He will be replaced by another Akron. At the same time - yes, it looks beautiful, like real metal. The manufacturer just lowered the price with some crappy glue. This, and Epstein did not commit suicide. *** UPDATE: August 20, 2020 *** I installed 2 of these devices in my truck. Both have been at it for less than a year and at this point both have effectively failed. Both fell off the dashboard and their original adhesive was replaced with 3M UHB adhesive. The 3M glue still sticks to the dash, but even with thorough cleaning and degreasing, the bases don't dry. t lasts more than a week or two if the temperature is above 90 (outdoors). They just fall off. Also, the friction lock on the swivel ball (the part that holds it in place so your phone is where you want it) almost didn't work either. If I put my phone on it and drive down the street, it just starts tipping over. I tried gluing the balloon, which helped a little, but then the mount fell off again.
