It's my own fault. I didn't check thoroughly enough, neither the seller nor ANY of the reviewers I've read ever mentioned that this filter does NOT contain activated carbon filtration. I think I assumed that so many aquarists would be crazy about it. Why oh why did I think I got what I didn't pay for? Question: How can a filter without activated carbon clean the water in the aquarium? Were these reviewers all amateur aquarium owners? This would be fantastic for a turtle pond or anyone who just wants to add to the pond for aeration and a good cleaning - it has a powerful motor, moves a ton of water and is super quiet. . And once the aerator is connected, it produces an incredible amount of oxygen. But there is no truly pure water without carbon filtration. Do some reviewers also mention organic pearls?
