I am very pleased to see that Dog Care is listening to customer feedback as they have made many of the most needed improvements to their previous dog collar. Unlike their latest model, which attaches the receiver to a vinyl collar with a pair of locating pins much like a watch band, the new collar features reinforced rubber mounts that screw into place. I have lost two previous collars due to their poor design but I suspect this new model will be difficult to take apart. New receiver design is also welcome. It's smaller, much thinner, with rounded corners. Also, it doesn't turn off automatically, but stays on until the power runs out. This is very valuable as the latest model automatically shuts off after 12 hours; I can't tell you how many times I let the dog out thinking the collar was still on after morning activation when in fact it was off. The buckles on the new collar are also better as they don't slip off like before. The final update needed for the collar is the dog tag attachment ring. I hate it when my dog wears two or three collars at the same time. He is currently wearing a new dog collar, flea collar and collar, neither of which have a dog tag ring. It's good that he's a large dog (55 pounds) but that would be a problem with small dogs. The remote control is completely redesigned and almost perfect. It's about half the size of their longer remote yet slightly smaller than the last remote, the extra LCD has been removed and a dial is used instead to set the intensity of the hit. It lies ergonomically in the hand. The only change I'd like to see is a clearer display of battery life remaining. This is a big update! I am very happy.
