Review on Bistro Cutting Board DIY Woodworking Kit For Home Projects by Franklin Richardson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality, as advertised

I bought this as a weekend project to increase my glue-up skills. The wood was excellent, the selection was thoughtful, and the result was stunning. I took it down on a planer, cut the ends with a miter saw, and sanded it to 1000 grit with an orbital sander. After about 10 coatings of mineral oil it is beautiful. I would have liked it to be a bit thicker so I could put a bevel on the edge but I still gave it 5-stars because it is so nice to see something of quality sold here honestly and priced fairly. For the time I spent and the joy it brought I would have bought two had I known!

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • Quality concerns: There is no guarantee that the end result will be of high quality, as the kit relies on the skill of the individual user and the quality of the tools used. Subpar materials may also result in a poorly constructed board
