These bioballoons are light, very porous and not a speck of dust flies away. They remind me of a little rice ball. I placed them in the swamp of my Eclipse system for the final step and expect them to do an incredibly good job of growing beneficial bacteria. The reason I say this is based on the sheer number of holes and pores compared to other last stage filter media I have used before. This is the fourth filter media I've bought from BrightWater (also a few miles from my home!) and was totally impressed with how well they hold up.
