Review on Hakko 633 01 Iron Holder Cleaner by Matthew Aiono

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice and functional holder for your soldering iron

I have a Hakko FX-888D soldering iron and I really like it. What I don't like is the iron holder that comes with it. It's in the same yellow and blue color scheme as the box, and I find it a bit ugly. Not only is the sponge useless since it has a brass sponge (brass sponge will extend the life of your tip and won't cool it down), but the hole for the brass sponge holder is annoyingly small/narrow. I was a bit concerned if it would hold my FX-888D stick perfectly as I couldn't find any reviews from anyone who had tried it, but my fears were unfounded. This item is everything I want in a holder: - Beautiful and elegant - Holds the FX-888D probe great - Has a back pressure of about 2" behind the hole that keeps your probe perfectly vertical, so I think that will hold them about Any iron - Has a brass sponge holder with adequate opening - Large/heavy enough to stay in place without taking up too much space It's a little larger than I expected but not too much For those wanting a functional Looking for an iron holder I'm very satisfied I recommend this one and as it comes with a brass sponge and brass sponge holder it couldn't be better. If you have an FX-888D I also highly recommend checking out the T18-BR02 tip .Get into hard-to-reach places and allows you to hold the end of the spike flush with the board while hand is at a comfortable angle. I can't now imagine using an iron without it, spoiled me.
