Received my filter today and installation was a lot easier than some of the reviews suggest. The quality of the filter was better than I expected, but the accessories and fittings are flimsy at best. Be patient and careful when packing, it won't take long to crack some of the pieces. Step 1: Throw the instructions in the trash. I kept her laughing. If you need help, watch the YouTube video. The first thing I did was submerge the hoses in a bucket of hot water to relax while I assembled the rest of the filter. After rinsing everything with water from the reservoir and filling the media bowls, take a moment and use some petroleum jelly to lightly lubricate the hose fittings, inlet and outlet valve assembly, and any o-rings I could find . I had to wrap silicone tape around the inlet filter tube to prevent air leakage. Be sure to wet the inside of the hoses before attempting to attach them to the plastic fittings. Hoses should be easy to handle after soaking in hot water. Carefully insert all fittings into the hoses and gently tighten the locking rings. Check for leaks by blocking and sucking up one end of the hose. After assembling all the fittings, I hung up the hoses and assembled the parts in the door frame while the pipes were still warm to loosen the pipes and get rid of any kinks. It only takes a few minutes. Check with Google which media fit in which compartment. It seems like everyone has their own way of doing it. Make your choice. After filling the trays, check that all trays are installed correctly. If it doesn't, it will become a problem later when you try to attach the top. Starting the pump is a breeze if you only fill the canister to the top of the top filter bowl. Check the fit when you put the lid on the canister. Landing should be tight all around the perimeter. If one of the trays is crooked, it can prevent the lid from closing tightly. Before attempting to prime and start the pump, make sure the outlet is above the water level in the tank. I only had to pump three times at the gas station for the siphon to start working. Bright. So far I'm happy with the camper. I'll update in a few months when I see how well it handles my 50 gallons. like an old air pump. The filter worked well, but the buzz was not pleasant. After contacting CLL they responded the same day and after sending several emails to resolve the issue it was determined that the head unit needed to be replaced. Laura at CLL sent me a replacement straight away and once installed the hum was gone and now I have to touch the filter to say it works. 5 stars to CLL and Laura for the best customer support!
