I have a commercial roll wide enough to use in a smoker and grill. I thought it was thicker than other commercial films I've used. No, that is not so. It is paper thin and tears with light pressure. Another thing I've found is that if you're using it on a grill pan or smoker plate, make sure you don't get moisture between the metal pan/plate and the foil. Heating the liquid seems to help break up the foil and it literally sticks to the metal like it does plastic. I've had no problems with food packaging and cooking, only under high heat conditions when used for clutter control.
