Review on Roadpower Tailgate Camera for Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1999-2006, Rear View Backup Camera Integrated in Tailgate Handle (Color: Black) by Ryan Judy

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Wanted to be liked. The picture is crooked (clear) and does not fit.

See update below Original Review: So I like that it has a small plug and I've connected it to a good Kenwood touchscreen stereo. The picture is excellent. The plug is small, so what helped me was drilling a 1/2 inch hole in the bottom of the tailgate and using a rubber grommet filled with engine sealant, the "right stuff" to prevent rust in the bare metal. Bad: tailgate handle. The bezel came with foam and a bar that was too thick. When I decided to glue it to the protective case, it was sticking out of the tailgate and didn't fit on the tailgate like the original. So I removed the foam rubber and snapped it open. It's almost tight. The latches/protrusions at the top need to be redesigned. I was happy with the idea of just gluing a t-nut to the front of the camera and inserting stainless steel hex head screws through the tailgate to pull it in nicely. with only two screws with black plastic caps. It will look good. But that's why I haven't changed anything and I hope to hear from the seller. The camera angle is excellent, but it's shifted to one side. It's on the driver's side and not in the middle. I know this is a bad photo but you can see the end of the bumper on one side and only 1/3 of the bumper on the other side. It's not acceptable so I'll be returning it and hopefully they can send me a new one and I can see. I've already routed all the wiring to the dashboard, drilled a hole in the tailgate, etc. I threw away the manual (to be checked by a native English speaker) because it didn't help. But now I don't have her contact details. .I will update as soon as I get a good camera. I was hoping to save $50 by buying this one. PS Kenwood has a camera button and camera selection is very easy. Additionally, Kenwood lets you create and customize rear parking lines. Super cool! Update: The seller contacted me and sent me a new camera to replace my crooked one. Great service so far. I will update after I get a new one. Incidentally, the brand doesn't matter, the frames are all free.
