I'm studying cooking and have a knife set that contains quite a few knives. After a couple of close encounters, I nearly cut myself while trying to grab the items from the kit. I had a different sheath on my chef's knife (which is a priority for me) to prevent damage, but it was a large clear sheath that was too bulky and expensive to fit my entire set with. I found these and decided to try them out. I am very satisfied, they fit my knives very well without adding weight or bulk. They are also quick to remove, yet secure enough to remain in the vehicle. I was worried they wouldn't stay in place on my thinner Japanese knives, but they're reliable even on my Usuba. I have a number of knives from different manufacturers (Shun, Henckels and Mercer) and they fit all different styles of knives. At the moment I have no complaints. They do what they're designed to do without adding bulk and at a reasonable price. Highly recommended for those who have kitchen knives that are not in the block.
