As a high school English teacher, I needed a pencil sharpener that could be used in MANY daily, sometimes brutal, ways. This sharpener has (so far) delivered. A student who keeps breaking the tip of a pencil loves this sharpener. The student who can't get started without a perfectly sharpened pencil will get there faster because this sharpener will deliver the perfect edge her little heart desires. The student who stands with a pencil in the sharpener (although he's obviously done) while his mind wanders to his happy place and keeps the engine humming, that engine isn't worn out yet. The only criticism is that the document compartment is quite small and has to be emptied several times a day. While this may not be a problem for some, with middle school students—those cute little creatures who fall for no reason, constantly drop things for no apparent reason, and fight over who should empty the document tray—I have what I have.
