Wallet blocks signals but renders cards unusable. My bank card and one credit card have a tear right in the middle of the magnetic stripe and the other card has a flexible stripe. The reason for this seems to be the design of the ID window, in which the reinforcement of the window pocket rests on opposite card pockets. Sitting on top of your wallet will put pressure on the tops of the cards in the facing slots, eventually breaking them.
