This is an amazing product without throwing too much money away. There are a few issues, but if you're careful, you don't have to worry about them. The blade guide is easy to use, but it can be difficult to use in some cases. Firstly, the plastic rods are not straight but slightly curved, but that doesn't prevent you from using the product. This can only be used with sticks or other stones that require you to use water as a lube as directed in the instructions. If you have a rock that is 2 inches from the surface you will need to raise the blade guide 2 inches to level it or your corners will fall off. You will need a guide telling you what settings to use the bars with as there are no numbers or angles on the blade guide. Sometimes I just use my fingers to set the angles I want my knives to be sharpened at instead of using the manual settings. All you have to do is insert the knife and turn the large screw and it has a good grip on the knife and smoothly moves the guide back and forth or side to side. Easy to clean, just use water and towel dry with your kit.
