UPDATE: Died in six months - so far so good - plug straight into power if you can

UPDATE Six month recap: He died. Review of the first night: so far, so good. It's a bit temperamental - worked out of the box during a quick and dirty test build. Then after I did a permanent install it started working intermittently and with errors. The problem could be in the power supply. You cannot power it from the USB port in the device unless that port is left permanently enabled. (If the IR repeater isn't on when you first touch the remote, it won't turn everything on.) I've found it to work best and most stably when plugged directly into a power source - I used the USB USB iPhone adapter used. UPDATE: It's been three days and it's still working quite well. But. the red LED that should respond to commands does not respond (although commands are received and executed). And the instructions advise users to unplug the power strip "when not in use" to extend its lifespan. This is not feasible in most installations and, as mentioned above, prevents proper use in most applications. I have emailed Neoteck customer service regarding both issues but have not received anything.
