Review on Underwater River Air Pump Small by Heather Collier

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The frogs give 5 stars!

However, I deduct a star for the lousy suction cups. After replacing them with better quality mugs from the dollar store, I was ready to go. This is a simple but genius idea for an underwater flow effect. It's small, maybe 8 or 9 inches long, but big enough for a water feature in tanks up to 20 gallons. It's easiest to install *before* the tank is full, but it can be done with a full tank. If your soil is sandy and the suction cups don't suit you, the "river" sides have a bottom rim and can be weighted down with rocks, gravel or other decorations, which will also give them a more natural look. The clear plastic feels quite thick and strong, and best results are achieved when placed in a straight line rather than at an angle. As you can see, my water frogs love to play and explore the river. Placing blue balls or rocks on the bottom can complete the look of the river even when it's blocked off. Then they will go down and explore more. It comes with a small bridge decoration, air hoses, a check valve and an air pump. I think it's good value for a unique and fun feature.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
