The reason I bought a replacement in the first place is because the original broke, so I know it's only a matter of time before this one breaks too. It is exactly the same as the original and works the same way. It is more profitable to buy a vacuum cleaner part than to buy a new Hoover Linx so this item will remain on my watch list until my Hoover Linx breaks. I gave that 5 stars because of the math, spending $25 is better than spending over $100 and I'm not reviewing the Hoover Linx in this review, just that part and it hasn't broken yet.
