Review on πŸ”’ Enhance Security with McGard 76029 Premium Pickup Truck Tailgate Lock in Black by Alan Singh

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Offers better protection than a hose clamp.

With the rear cover open, anyone with a torx wrench can unscrew the factory bracket with one screw and walk away with the tailgate. This prevents quick theft and doesn't look ridiculous like a hose clamp that can rattle and get caught in the tailgate. The best option is to keep the back door locked at all times. If you forget it, it will save you from the occasional thief. If a thief with power tools and time aims at your back door, he will just rip off the factory brace if your back door is unlocked. The best defense is to keep it locked. It looks clean, blends in with the black plastic bedding, and has Ford, GM, and other truck adapters to keep it looking neat. This gives you peace of mind if you forget to lock the back door, and it's a lot better than the extra shield style that folds in three seconds.
