Review on Enhanced Filtration: Biomaxx 10/30 Filter Cartridge 12-Pack by Aaron Barker

Has two layers of fine fibers and some carbon. I don't use charcoal, but I love the Deep Blue Professional Biomaxx 30 double-ended filter. I've used two of these filters together in my 29-gallon tank and they do a good job. Fortunately, these filter cartridges can be easily rebuilt by sewing a thin filter pad, a micron filter pad, or both pads to the cartridge frame. After 1 week of use the fabric started tearing exposing the carbon so I add a layer of polyfiber before using the cartridge.
