Bought as a replacement. I have several in my soul. Sometimes it helps to have something to hold on to or to hang up a washcloth. I have 3 smaller ones upstairs and this one is actually at the bottom of my shower. I use it to hang a bathmat in the shower. I try to clean them often as they are prone to mold and often check how well they are attached to the wall. I didn't check this that often because when it was down and with a rug on it, it broke off a fairly large chunk at one end as it fell off the wall. It still worked fine. I was concerned that the sharp edges could cause injury if this happened while I was in the shower. Please be sure to check all measurements before using the shower. They work great and replacing them is an additional expense that I had to pay just for not checking the wall mount. So disregard on my part. This type of bar is also a very good option when you need something more permanent to help determine exact placement. Not only in height, but also where and at what angle.
