These are good ballet flats. We needed a split sole/canvas to meet my 6 year old's class requirements and spending $22 on a Capezio for a 45 minute class per week didn't seem worth it. She is currently 11.5/12 with wide feet (11.5 in Vans, 12 in Free and I think 12.5 Capesio Juliet II). We ordered 12 and 12.5 to compare these shoes. The 12s were a little tight and damaged her heel (cut too hard). The 12.5 has a bit of room to grow and will hopefully last year-round. I don't like the soles as much as the Capezio Juliet (which we had last year). The quality isn't as tight (stitching/general material) but they cost half the price so I'm happy with the purchase. I think they will do for the beginning ballet. Consider ordering a half size shoe for wider feet and kids who like toe room.
