I recently got an arc welder 120v Bought to fix broken patio furniture. Bought these electrodes along with 6013 1/16" electrodes from Harbor Freight (HF). After refurbishing furniture I tried some fillet welds with 1/8" flat bar for practice/fun. HF electrodes worked very well (at least as well as you would expect from a home welder). HF bars are easy to hit, do not stick and have good penetration. These electrodes were more difficult to handle. They were harder to start and hung far more often, even at the highest amp settings. The rod also usually started glowing red about halfway through, softened and began to deform (which has never happened with HF electrodes) Given that these rods are about 4 times more expensive per pound than HF bars, I doubt I would buy them again.
