I bought this for my 1999 TJ because my radio (Cobra 75) isn't loud enough to hear at highway speeds with the top and doors open. I confess I was worried it wouldn't be loud enough given it's half the cost of the Cobra external speakers. I installed it in my soundbar and was amazed at how loud this little box sounds. Even on a freeway with no doors or roof, I don't have to turn the volume up very high to hear what's being said. I had to extend the cable to reach my radio's output jack, but I suspect a 6 foot cable is more than enough for most applications. This is a good buy.
