The unit gets very hot - I haven't had to heat my house since I turned on this unit, so the Energystar rating is dubious. It runs continuously in "Auto" mode and turns off in "Continuous" mode. When the unit is running, the humidity reading is approximately 10% higher than the reading on a separate humidity monitor; However, if I turn off the device and wait 30 minutes, the readings are accurate. Finally, the controls are unintuitive and the instructions garbled. It took a bit of trial and error to get it working the way I wanted it to. I don't have high hopes for this device. I chose this product because it has generally proven to be good, but so far I am disappointed and wish I had chosen a more dependable and dependable brand.
