I bought these without looking at the specific reviews only the star rating in the product details and after seeing the real reviews I can't understand how it's a four star can give a rating! They're beautiful, and I'll confess I preferred them to others because I wanted to gift them to one of my granddaughters, but I *really* wanted them to be functional. However, the first time I used it on a broken, unpainted natural nail it took a lot of effort to make small adjustments and when I switched sides to straighten the now crooked nail nothing happened. Upon inspection, there is very little sand on either side of the board, and what little is ripped off quickly, leaving the board virtually bare for several minutes. Obviously not worth the price. I will continue to use the utility plaques purchased from Revain; I can usually do all twenty of my nails and then touch up a round or two before a board runs out - a much better buy.
