Very comfortable trail running shoes. I've driven them 207 miles and they don't show much wear. I think they will go 500 miles, maybe more. I don't run in it as much as I walk. I have run in them and they are surprisingly comfortable to walk in. I was expecting them to be a little chunky, heavy or clunky, just a little, but they were fantastic. I haven't run more than 4 miles in them (about 8 minutes per mile) so I can't comment on how they feel on long runs. But they're great for short runs. Off-road traction doesn't seem much better than my old trail shoes, but I do notice a difference compared to trail shoes. I got the black ones at a good discount, they work just like the other colors and once you get them dirty it doesn't matter. Quite happy with them. They also double as my softball cleats as they have fantastic softball/diamond traction. You have incredible technology! - I like the loop for tucking in the laces, - I like the velcro on the gaiters. Finding the perfect leggings is quite difficult. The Moxie Gear gaiters still work well with this shoe. - I am pleased with the places to install the screws. I was about to put them in, just waiting for the cold to get tough. - There is also a feature that allows you to install drainage holes. I haven't done it yet. I spilled a lot of water in it and since there were no drainage holes it didn't seem like a big problem. Thinking of punching some holes, just going against my instincts to put holes in the boots :) - I like the option of lacing on the inside or outside row. I've started with the laces inside since they arrived. Now I went far below, and narrower still above. I feel like it holds my leg a little better. Problems: The only problem is that when I put my foot in the shoe, the back of the inserts usually fold under the heel. I tuck my toe in and pull it out from under my heel, but this is the only pair of shoes I've ever owned that does that. The other issue is that the left shoe has an odd appearance that rubs on the toe of my foot from time to time. It's also a very minor inconvenience and I only notice it on one ride in 50, but again, I've never had a pair of shoes that did this. So just a few areas that they could improve or that they might already have as I believe these are the latest versions for Mad River tr. I got them for about $75. I am delighted with what I got for this price and would buy them again in a heartbeat. If they were $130 (retail) I might do a little research before picking them up as there are a lot more options at that price. But then again, maybe I'd dwell on them again. If you haven't seen Saucony's video on these shoes, you should. It's short and fun. I found "How to set up Mad River TR" on a popular video site. He will quickly show you the features of the shoes with fun music.
