Not sure I'm helpful here but read on

Now first understand that I'm not an expert on horse brushes and that's not why I bought these have. With that in mind, I hope this helps. The bristles are not as stiff as I would like, but they work very well on my bulldog. What I LOVED was that the strap fits my hand well. i have big hands So if it makes a difference based on hand size, it has plenty of room. I also liked the quality of the wood and the strap. Well built for the price. Worked well with my beard too lol
