Review on ๐ก๏ธ Gates 34012 HVAC Thermostat by Cameron Rosa
Not compatible with OE for Subaru. The result is overheating.
Installed on a 2004 Subaru Forester, car overheated on first drive. Had to reset the previously used thermostat to get the car running again. As other reviewers point out, the valve size is much smaller than the original. Not sure if it was because of that or just an unfortunate part, but either way it's rubbish. I've used Gates products a few times in the past with no problems, but never again after that and their "perfect fit" upper radiator hose which was a complete joke. Save time and extra coolant by doing the job only once with a genuine part.
