If you don't put the pellets in a separate cup before dissolving them in the washing machine, you'll end up spilling those little things all over the place. I tried using the lid as recommended and then tried pouring into my hand. Most pellets end up on the ground. I have a cat and dog and am grateful neither of them tried to eat the pellets before I removed them from the floor. At least the ones I see. Those that get into the washing machine do not affect the smell of clothes in any way, unlike the smell of detergent. waste of money. Not recommended.
