Easy to connect. Works great (and makes my TV better). My TV is actually designed to be built in as the built in IR receiver is on the bottom and tilted down. Therefore, getting the TV to pick up distant signals was very difficult on the stand. On volume up/down it stopped and I had to wave the remote or keep pressing the button until it changed again. I installed the extension in the top corner of the TV and it works great no matter where I point the remote as long as it's pointed at the TV. The volume control is now very smooth. as you expect. We also like the red light that flashes to indicate an IR signal has been received. I actually had a bug in my remote and the red light was blinking MUCH faster than when it was working properly. This allowed me to quickly diagnose my remote error, fix it, and then verify that it was working properly again, with the red light on the expander flashing at a normal rate.
