This is a well made knife that does its job perfectly. It comes in a wooden case and its blade and tip are covered in plastic to prevent the user from accidentally cutting themselves. It is heavier than most knives and feels good in the hand. My wife had trouble slicing onions, but she put her knife through the sharpener and it cut straight. Previously, she had to cut sun-dried tomatoes with scissors because of their leathery texture. Even a sharpened cleaver could not cut them evenly. But this Chef Craft knife sliced through them like butter. Doesn't matter! She is excited about this knife that she will use every day.
