Review on πŸ”ͺ Hand Forged Boning Knife: A Chef's Essential with Sleek Bottle Opener Design for BBQ and Camping Adventures by Marquel Henry

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The price is good, minor imperfections can be corrected, each image in the ad is photoshopped.

Pros: Low cost, hard carbon steel, uncomfortable to shave arm hair right out of the box, good cleaver weight, not heavy or tiring, solid construction, good blade hold, thick spine, good profile, coating on non-cutting , steel-friendly finishes, beautiful and well-designed leather sheath. Cons: None of the photos show this knife being used. Each of them is a fake Photoshop. Dents are not hammer marks but an imitation of "hand forged" sprayed "carbon" coating, coating goes down the cut face of the profile when it shouldn't, the edge has a slight bend but I sanded wrong and in this one curvature of the blade is a straight part, the bottle opener must be blunted to work, blade care (oil to protect and hard steel difficult to sharpen). Overall: This knife looks great and would be a great functional accessory for my Flat Black Offset Smoker. And no matter how cheap this knife is, all the shortcomings, except for sharpening the blade, creating a flat spot, are easy to fix and 95% worth it. That single flat spot would be an absolute PITA to fix, even with my belt sanders. The knife is not sharp for shaving, it will shave off the hair, but the razor burn will be insane, so it is not sharp for shaving. A good cut will take this knife very, very far. (It's sharp enough for most people to use in the kitchen.) The blade feels heavier than most kitchen knives, but lighter than most craft knives. He will hit the ferrorod. Love the practicality and overall style of the knife, it's great for chopping and chopping. I don't think I would take it as my main knife on a mountain hike, but maybe next time I'll take it just to experiment a bit and see how it stacks up next to my equally affordable Schrade and Mora expensive elmax First Edge bk5050 . So far I am happy with this knife.

Pros
  • High quality steel
Cons
