Good stuff in railings and pickets

This stuff is pretty cool. So many designs reviewed and back to basics. Looks great and actually very happy with the quality. Thought it would be sketchy considering it was the cheapest option, but this stuff is good. Very happy. Bought Muzata tongs and they were junk but for $10 I wasn't expecting much. Went about halfway through (30 cuts) before they started to dull. For swaging tools, I used a Harbor Freight 24" hand bolt cutter and drilled a 1/8" hole. They worked great. Crims were aluminum, so very light. In general I am very satisfied and even bought more to make a second top deck. One thing I did that was very helpful was make a hole drilling jig. Each end has two holes and the center posts are 1/4 inch for cord. The jig had eleven sets of holes spaced every 3 inches. It took about an hour to make the jig, but after that everything was ready. Simply snap the template into place and pre-drill. I'll post a photo of the jig later. My posts were already painted so it was impossible to mark each row of holes with a pencil. It is also VERY IMPORTANT to pre-drill holes for the screws. If you don't pre-drill, you'll likely blow the heads off. Goed easily into my cedar pole after pre-drilling. Came into my Douglas fir posts very hard, even with pre-drilling, so I would definitely take them off. BEFORE and life will be good.
