I have a couple of knives that I use every day for cooking and when my kitchen knife was recently bent from closing a drawer in a hurry I was hoping this knife would take the place of its predecessor as the most used knife in my kitchen. I was disappointed to discover that this "stainless steel" and "carbon steel" knife was not dishwasher safe after it rusted after just a few weeks of use. As a rule, you can assume that a stainless steel knife is dishwasher safe. That being said, this knife has many great features that make it a quality knife for those who don't use the dishwasher. First, the blade is excellent and well sharpened. It cut easily right out of the box and stayed sharp for weeks with daily use. The handle feels good in the hand and the balance of the blade is just right. The design is sleek, minimalist and looks great (when there is no rust).
