Review on Two Little Fishies ATLNPX1 Bioplastics by Jeanette Green

Complete madness! Attention

I also have a two little fish reactor (small version up to 150 gallons). I also purchased upgraded plastic filters to make this product compatible with the reactor. I hooked it up to my 280 gph pump that I use for phosphate medium (mind you, I only poured enough product for 50 gallons) and the beads just sat there. Bioballs must be in constant motion. I ordered a 590 GPH pump and the balls barely bounced! I had to remove the T-valves to examine the restriction and run tubing directly in and out of the reactor and now I have movement. Not much, but not much, I *hope* that's enough, but even with my tank slightly full I've had an outbreak of algae. I had to order phosphate remover and put it in a sock in a pan until something happened here. The next enlargement of this brand of pump has almost doubled the GPH and the power is 1042 GPH and this pump is 90 watts! That's almost more than most LED lighting systems. A pump with that much power puts more heat into the tank. It all adds up. Why on earth do we have to use that kind of energy for a reactor? Terrible design. Extremely disappointed with this product and Two Little Fishies and would not recommend. In fact, I'll give back what's left of him. Before this product I thought the company made quality products. To update. Just stay away from this product if you plan to use two small fish reactors. I've seen several better reactors for this type of environment. The reactor actually screws into the bottom of the pump, so you're restricting the water flow to move the media a lot less, which makes sense from an energetic standpoint. So far I have only seen such reactors in nano systems. I hope I can find such a reactor or modify my own.
