Comparison of QualGear QG-TM-002-BLK and Sanus BLL2-B1 Super Slim Mount

This review is about the QG-TM-002-BLK Super Slim Mount I have previously used a Sanus BLL2-B1 in my latest TV setup and thought I would give this QualGear mount a try as it is cheaper and has a lower profile Here are the pros and cons: Pros: * QualGear QG -TM-002-BLK has a lower profile on paper (0.4" vs. 0.7") *QualGear QG-TM-002-BLK uses metal for latches (while Sanus uses plastic) that break can)* The QualGear QG-TM-002-BLK costs less than half of the Sanus model CONS:* The actual profile of the QualGear QG-TM-002-BLK depends on the height of your wall, in my case it was TV final installation 0.6" from the wall*. The QualGear QG-TM-002-BLK doesn't come with that many TV screw options like sanus. I had to buy the right size for my TV separately as the shortest QualGear screws were too long.* With the QualGear QG-TM-002-BLK, I had to attach the cables to the TV before mounting it, which would be almost impossible Sanus includes a stand , which allows you to easily mount the cables after hanging the TV.* To attach the TV to the QualGear QG-TM-002-BLK, both cables must be pulled at the same time. The Sanus mount simply snaps into place. It's hard to tell if the QualGear is properly attached.* The QualGear QG-TM-002-BLK doesn't seem to freeze my 90" TV. The bottom of the TV protrudes slightly further from the wall than the top. In my case, cables aren't an issue, so it could be drywall.

Pros
  • Mounting rail: 0.4" from the wall
Cons
  • High price
