I've been using this for less than three weeks and it nearly started a fire last night. He burned the rug I put under him. First of all, this is not a true pet warmer, but a regular heating pad with a metal cylinder covering the cord to prevent the pet from chewing on the cord. This is the only safety feature this "pet warmer" has. The pet warmer I had previously (which worked great until it got out in the rain), the B07X8MFGDC, had a 12 volt AC adapter to safely limit the current to the warmer. . This product does not have a power adapter. There is no auto shut-off function and the temperature gets too high, which is indicated by black spots. It's scary to imagine what could have happened if it had caught fire while my pet was sleeping on it. This is not a safe for your beloved furry friend and should not be sold as a pet item!
