I bought 4 of these red collars for my adult dogs - basset hound, german shorthaired pointer, pit bull and mixed breed terrier puppy. (The last two puppies are in the photo with those collars on.) The collars had a Lupine tag attached, so I'm guessing I got the real deal and not a fake. My dogs wore these collars 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. since over a year. They are active farm dogs, so they spend a lot of time running through fields and woods and playing in the nearby stream. The red color has faded somewhat over time, but the color never made it onto the dog's coat as other reviewers have noted. The webbing is slightly worn but the wear and tear is what I would expect after a year of heavy use. Sometimes I wash these collars with my work jeans and they wash out perfectly, again with no bleeding. I assume the collars will last another year. The collar is a single layer of nylon webbing making it suitable for a fairly well behaved dog who doesn't have a hobby of breaking collars for fun. If you have a dog that pulls heavily, chews a lot, or is otherwise too harsh on collars, you might want to look at a strong two-ply collar rather than this one.
