Fulfill their purpose well. Do not use oil, only water/saliva. One of the two will always be available. I wish they were stamped around the edges for strength, but that's a small convenience I may be overlooking. Makes a good blade for your knife in the field. I wouldn't use it as a primary sharpening tool at home, but you can probably get away with it depending on how well cared for and how heavily your knives are used.
