I've had Kirby Gen-4 for over 20 years. It still outperforms all best-in-class vacuums on the market. But after years of reliable service, there are wearing parts. OEM agitator brushes have no burrs. Time for a new roller. The description of this role states that it is "Real Kirby". However, I suspect that it is a fake. The reel fits my Kirby G4. However, there is a metal pin on one end of the brushroll that triggers an inductive LED that you can see at the top of the suction head to show that the brushroll is spinning and not stuck. The button is on the wrong end of the reel, at least on the G4. Since the brushes are not perfectly symmetrical, the roller can only be installed in one direction. I don't have a G3 so I can't compare if the inductive brush roller LED pin matches the previous generation Kirby, but I would be very surprised if they changed the rotating brush LED design between the two generations. a new brush roller with updated agitator brushes but I've lost the rotation indicator LED which affects functionality and can cause the belt to burn through faster.
