Review on 💎 Dremel EZ545 1-1/2-Inch EZ Lock Diamond Wheel: Achieve Precision Cuts Effortlessly with Silver Wheel by Peter Joseph

Cutting ceramic floor tiles

I used this attachment to cut 32 inch (in a straight line) laid mosaic floor tile (5/16 thick) in a doorway. I installed a marble sill and had to sink it into the ground. This diamond saw easily cuts tiles at the maximum speed of the Dremel tool. I used a flexible shaft to get a perpendicular cut. The tool/motor itself was too big to use without a bevel cut. There is still a lot of sand on the board. I found the EZ-Lock feature to be less than ideal because it doesn't stay as rigid as a solid mandrel. There is a slight wobble when in contact with the kerf side. This tool saved me from having to remove individual tiles and install new ones that were cut on a stationary wet saw. Probably saved me a few hours. It was too expensive, a 4-1/2 inch diameter diamond blade for an angle grinder is half or less and lasts much longer, but an angle grinder will chip the tile and make a mess, not an option for a picky job.

Pros
  • High test results for grip and durability
Cons
  • Very expensive
