I recently bought a unit on eBay and It broke. Not too surprising. Then I decided to spend "a lot of money" on the original Gates module sold by Revain. After installation, the fan will not run and if the air conditioner is left idling, the engine can quickly overheat. When I hooked up the diagnostic tool I noticed that the fan circuit is low based on the VIDA reading. Basically, this means that the device is not working properly. So, even if you invest and buy a Gates fan, please double check that the fan is working properly. Do not overheat the engine.
